of UN Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 4
- to Reduce Child Mortality

at Lindley Methodist Church, East Street,
 Lindley Huddersfield HD3 3ND

Saturday 1st September 2012
10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.

10.00 a.m.                   Coffee and biscuits
12 noon – 2.00 p.m.   Soup and a roll, with apple pie to follow
2.00 p.m.- 4.00 p.m.  Tea, scones, jam and cream

    Gillian had a very successful day to launch her project (raising funds to buy mosquito nets to protect children from malaria in Kenya) which helps address UN Millennium Development Goal 4 Reducing Child Mortality.

    In just one day, £1242 was raised, enough to buy over 400 nets. Thank you to all, especially the helpers from Gillian's own church and circuit, but also everyone who attended from around the district, or sent donations. Some funds had been raised before the day, and many gifts were Gift-Aided, so the final total to date will be even higher. Gillian will update us at the Forum meeting on 4 October.

    In the meantime, please be thinking what you might do in your own circuit to raise further funds for this excellent cause.

The most important Christmas Card you’ll send this year Methodist Homes (MHA) are asking YOUR CHURCH to share the joy of Christmas with older people this year.  Could you take the time to write just one extra Christmas card which will be passed to an older person cared for by MHA?  To take part, please refer to the further  details and an order form . Instructions of how to take part, as well as special Christmas cards designed by an MHA resident for your church members to write their own messages of goodwill and friendship, are included in the Christmas Friendship Appeal pack. “May I express my gratitude for your lovely idea of asking folk (including children) to send Christmas cards. Soupermums! Wilsden Trinity Church

Do you have a young baby? Looking for something to do? If the answer is yes then Soupermums is for you. We're here from 11 until 1 every Monday, Mums (and dads) have a rest and the babies can play.
