News from Crag Road

What a difference a year or two makes!  The 2018 – 19 Strategy Questionnaire sent out by Nick asked “What factors guide our thinking and who can help?” Some negative factors are clearly present but we are not concentrating on them. We prefer to ask... ‘What are our strengths and weaknesses and where can we find help to improve the strong points and lessen the weaker ones?’  We went into lockdown quietly confident that the future was hopeful. We continued our prayer walks (virtually), held a Gift Day and contacted all our members to assure them of our support and love. We kept in touch with Drop-in members.  The last 2 years have been like a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. However, climbing on the roller-coaster, creates no worries but going over the top and tearing down the other side is a different story, as we found out as we reviewed the situation.  2020- 21 Covid-19 and Lockdown  What a difference a year makes.  We outlined our position in t...

Crag Road Church Drop In

On a Friday afternoon, Crag Road run a drop-in centre for local people in the Windhill area, who are struggling with life problems, such as Alcohol or Drug addiction. This has been running for 14 years and provides a valuable service to the community. Recently numbers have dropped and we have changed the format to providing soup and a roll, along with hot drinks and biscuits. We brought the time on a Friday afternoon forward, from 2pm until 4pm to 1pm until 3pm. The change has proved successful. However, due to illness, we really could use a couple of male helpers to work alongside our other helpers. If you think that this could be your Cup of Tea (excuse the pun), then please contact John northvisiting@bradfordnorth.org.uk John W, Circuit Pastoral Co-ordinator

Crag Road Drop-in-Centre

Training :  We held a one-day training session with Project 6 who held a workshop on alcohol and drug awareness.  most of our leaders were able to attend and found the session informative. Publicity :  We have continued to produce new leaflets, bookmarks and newsletters to hand out to the nearby homes. Signs of Hope:   We are delighted to record that one of the men that started to attend the Drop-in-Centre has been frequently to church and has expressed a desire to be considered for membership.  Others have worshipped with us on several occasions. ...
