Somewhere, over the rainbow ...

Our preachers and worship leaders enjoyed an away day on 20 June when 21 of us went to Norwood and took part in a quiet day, on the theme of rainbows. We were led by Katharine Cheney, who is our District Link for Reflect, the Methodist Spirituality Network. She provided this lovely worship focus and talked through various aspects of our day to day lives, assigning a colour of the rainbow to each one – material things, relationships, spirituality, health, harmony, learning, and communication. All of these things need to be in balance, if we are to have the wholeness God wants for us. After hearing from Katharine, we had time with the notes she had prepared, to sit in the quiet, or walk (in the rain!) and reflect on each aspect.

It was lovely to be at Norwood and to spend time together, and have time to listen to what God might be saying.

This has been part of a programme of quiet spaces for preachers and worship leaders, as we seek to deepen our relationship with God, and our hope is that this will become obvious in the worship we lead. There will be a circuit quiet day in August, open to all, so if you have yet to experience one, why not join us, and we will see where God leads us in the quiet.

Summer Coffee Evenings raise over £1,200

Wilsden Trinity Church We would like to say a big thank you to all who supported us for your help in making our Summer Coffee Evenings such a brilliant success. The evenings have proved to be very popular and have been really well attended, attracting people from Wilsden village as well as members of other churches in the circuit.  Together we have munched our way through a tonne of biscuits and home-made scones and consumed gallons of coffee and tea. We have baked and bric-a-bracked and book sorted and are all exhausted and half a stone heavier than we were in May but feel it has been well worth the effort. In addition to enjoying very pleasant social evenings, with God's help we have succeeded in raising over £1,200 - approximately £250 each for the five chosen charities: Yorkshire Air Ambulance , Parkinson Society , Alzheimer's Society , Multiple Sclerosis Society and Martin House Children's Hospice . We are already planning for next summer and look forward t...
