Church Weekend at Grange over Sands - A good news story from Haworth Road Methodist Church

On 7 June 23 of us travelled to Grange for our annual weekend away. We all assembled for dinner on Friday evening and left after lunch on Sunday after having a good time.

We were introduced to the theme for the weekend with a DVD on Friday evening. On Saturday morning we divided into three groups for discussion. Saturday afternoon was free for us to please ourselves and on Saturday evening there was a social and entertainment. After service and Communion on Sunday morning we had another couple of hours free before lunch.

For anyone who has not been on one of these weekends, I can recommend them. the food was delicious and the weather was absolutely gorgeous (although I can't promise that every year of course). The topics are always interesting and thought provoking. It is a way of getting to know each other better and there is always a great feeling of fellowship. I always find the whole weekend extremely inspirational.

It is a requirement and not an option for ministers to take their sabbatical break.     There have been two main aspects to consider in planning the sabbatical. The first has been to decide how I should use the time. For your interest, I am pressing on with studies begun through Leeds University (which could lead to the award of a PhD), reflecting on my wor...
