The Link - Ian's message

Dear Friends In Jesus' Sermon on the Mount he says, 'In everything do to others as you would have them do to you; for this is the law and the prophets'. For so many people this is both common sense and a common courtesy. Yet surely it is more than that. It is a practical way of showing that we care and respect each other as being part of God's family. Jesus calls us to a generous and ethical living. This call to care, is a call that he gives to all, not just a few. In ' Encircled in Care ' it illustrates this. When a young person helps find an older woman's favourite cushion for her comfort during worship, this is an act of caring. When that same woman sits with the distressed mum in the church lounge and holds her hand as she sobs, this is an act of caring. Cool & Crazy Weekend at Calverley

Following on from the success of the Schools Noah's Ark Day project, Calverley have once again received a donation to enhance Christian Children's work in the area. So, in October, John Hardwick , author, songwriter and creative Christian communicator is coming to Calverley. He will lead a fun and lively weekend. There will be a training workshop for those involved in Children's ministry and anyone who leads worship where youngers are present on the evening of Friday 14 October, and on Saturday 15 October a morning activity session for 5-11s and an All Age Cool and Crazy Praise Party on the Sunday morning. The training workshop and service are opento everyone; however, please book for the workshop. For the events on Saturday, priority will be given to Calverley children, but if you contact our children's workshop northkids@bradfordnorth.org.uk before 26 September, places can be booked for youngsters across the circuit.
